For ten years, The Melton Team have been the most referred agents in Hampton Roads and Richmond! During this time, the ever-evolving real estate market has presented numerous challenges for both buyers and sellers alike. In fact, many of our clients have worked with us multiple times and have personally experienced such market changes. Rest assured, our team remains 100% committed to delivering top-notch service, first-hand experience and innovative guidance to today’s buyers and sellers! See what some of of our clients have to say about working with us:
My first experience with buying a house was back in 2002 thru 2003. From the beginning it was a struggle to find just the right house for me and my wife (from my first marriage). At the time, my realtor just did not connect with our expectations on a dream home. After a year of failure to find the perfect home to suit our needs, the realtor just dropped out of sight and mind. Along came Erin Melton to save the day.
Within 4 viewings (approximately 2 weeks), we found the perfect home that suited our every need. We could not have asked for anything better and were completely satisfied with the services that Erin provided. And for that reason, I called upon Erin, again, to help me find another home in 2006. I went thru a divorce and was in the market for a house. Once again, Erin came thru in the clutch.
She found me another house within the same time frame as my first home. I will admit that it was great to find my first two homes in such a timely manner, but I honestly enjoyed the process and how Erin went about it. She makes it an enjoyable and personable experience. I was not hurried in and out, and my expectations were considered down to the smallest detail. So it goes without saying that after living in my second home for a few years, getting married and expecting a new addition to the family…Erin was there one more time to help us find a bigger home.
This time the process took quite a bit more time, but that was not due to any lack of effort on Erin’s part. The market presented challenges. Erin was patient and weathered the storm with us and kept providing us with sound advice and suggestions. We loyally followed along and eventually it paid off. We ended up in our dream home and plan on staying in it for a long time to come. We (Laura and I) cannot thank Erin enough for her diligent work ethic and her sincerity in her approach to find us the home that we’ve always dreamed of. And if, for some reason, we decide to buy another home…I know who we will be calling.

Hello, my name is Laura Glanton. My husband, James, and I moved to Newport News, Virginia in 2007 with our daughter, Gabbie. I had researched the area before we moved and I found that I wanted our daughter to go Gildersleeve Middle School. I was looking through a city website for Newport News and came across Erin’s ad. So, I contacted Erin, told her our situation, explained that we had only one day to find a house and we set up an appointment to meet from there. Before our meeting I told Erin that I wanted Gabbie to go to Gildersleeve and we wanted to find a house in that school district. We met for lunch on a Saturday and afterwards she took us to some houses she had found that would fit our needs. After a long day of looking at house after house I was almost ready to give up. We just hadn’t seen anything that my husband and I really liked. Erin took us to her office and checked the listings one last time and found a house that wasn’t on her listings earlier. We went and looked at it, this was about 6:00 pm in the evening. This was finally the one! After a long day of looking, the last one we looked at we fell in love with. Erin put a contract in for us and it was accepted. We found our house in one day, thanks to Erin’s hard work. We stayed in Virgina for 3 years and Erin kept in touch with us throughout the 3 years. Then in 2009 we found out that my husband was being transferred back to Florida. So we contacted Erin to sell our house. We were worried about how long it would take to sell our house, since it was all over the news that house prices were falling and houses just weren’t selling. But, we moved forward, my husband was still being transferred so we still had to move, bad economy or not. We put our house on the market in January of 2010. A few weeks went by, people were looking at our house, but no one liked it enough to make an offer on the house. I was beginning to get discouraged but Erin wouldn’t let that happen. She always stayed positive and kept me positive. She said she was going to make a sale happen and I believed her. She had our house out on a lot of websites, including military websites. We kept updating the listing. Had to come down on our asking price a few times, but we finally got a contract on our house in April 2010! Erin made it happen, I give her all the credit. She worked hard for us and always stayed in contact with us. She made the whole buying and selling experience a great experience. I just hope that when we plan on buying our next house, in Florida, we find an agent as dedicated as Erin.
